This weeks artist conversation I got the pleasure of meeting two great young ladies; Alexandria Sandoval and Priscilla Mota. Alexandria is a second year at CSULB and is studying Kin Exercise Science. She goes to school full time but also works full time at ‘Round 1’ at the Lakewood mall. Going to school full time and working full time she finds herself always busy. She wants to be physical therapist due to an injury she got in high school. Alexandria was supposed to play soccer in college but she tore her ACL in high school which prevented her from further chasing her dream. She enjoys to draw on her spare time and also is fascinated with tattoos.
Priscilla Mota is a third year at CSULB. She is studying to become a nurse. I was extremely humbled to meet Priscilla. She is a cancer survivor! She was diagnosed with Leukemia but she is currently cancer free! She wants to become a nurse and work with children who have cancer. Her experience has shaped what she wants to do in the future. She is currently trying to get into a private school for nursing because the nursing programs for cal state are all impacted. She has never worked because she was sick and is barely throwing herself out there to the world. I was extremely happy to hear that Priscilla is now cancer free!!
